most items, slabs, hoppers, ect chickens will die on

However, on a fence, they will not (unless they are a baby, they will fall through with the eggs and die on the hopper

a fence on top of a hopper:

    chicken
    fence
    hopper

I tried building it and the chickens keep falling through the fence? What did I do wrong?

I have an idea, but it may or may not work. Make your regular fence hopper contraption, but put water on top of the fence. The chickens will float to the top and not get massacred, and when they poop out the eggs, the eggs will float down to the hopper, and boom. profit.
    thank me later.

The autofarm prevention system hasn't been touched at all for like 8 months.

The only update I pushed a month ago was re-defining fences as blocks and items (because of the new wood types awhile ago). This caused the system to see any fence as something trying to bypass the prevention system as well.

Can you please explain this autofarm prevention system or post a link to the explanation? This is the first I've heard of this.

The only public document we have is a blurb in our Technical Rules page:
    http://cobalt-mc.com/wiki/technical-rules/

The exact things we do and don't block are not really posted anywhere. All auto-farm and any automated system blocks are heavily debated and discussed before anything is implemented. The economy plays a huge role in our Survival realm, so we do have to "nerf" some things to make item prices be stable.

All autofarms are "allowed" in that nobody can be punished by using them.

However, not all of them will work. Certain mechanics to the game have been modified to prevent autofarms that are considered to be too efficient and can be used to exploit the economy. A list of these restrictions does not exist at the moment.
