When I play minecraft, I usually hack my gamma. This makes it seem very bright at night and in caves, so you don't need to put down torches to see. I worry about doing this on Cobalt, as admins can see why light level you are at when you mine an ore (skettlebus' vids showed me this). This is presumably in place to stop x-ray modders from getting away with using mods. I was wondering if you would be allowed to hack your gamma on Cobalt.

Dont know what you mean by hacking your light, but im assuming your putting the light level to 100 percent. Thats how i play so i would say thats fine, but if you are modding your actual minecraft files i would guess thats not fine.

It's not just setting it to full brightness, it's going into options.txt and changing your gamma from 1.0 (full brightness) to 1000.0, which makes the world very bright, like if you drink a night vision potion.

In 1.8 if you mine in low light levels, the server has a chance of breaking your tool and damaging you and a bunch of other fun stuff. Good observation though, it's a very well-known hack for fullbright.
