I hope this is the right place for this query!...

This is about creating a region within a region.. so, lets say if I create a large 100x100 block region, and then within that large region, create a smaller 10x10 block region...

1, First, is it possible to create a region within a region, or over-lapping regions for that matter?

    2. If the answer to (1) is yes, then if i grant region permission to a player for the smaller inner region, what happens? Will that player be able to place/break blocks within the smaller region, but not in the larger region? Or will the rule for the larger region 'out-rank' the rule for the smaller region and not allow the added player to break/place blocks in the smaller region because it is in the larger region?

The reason for the query is that I am building a town. At the moment I have built and sold some houses to other players on the outskirts of the town. But what if a build a house and sell it in the middle of the town? Obviously the new owner needs to be able to re-shape/break/place blocks within their new house, but I don't want to give them full "breaky-placey" rights to the town! :p

    1. No. Regions do not have subzones and most likely will not ever unless we majorly rewrite the region system. The reason for this is the complexity of your question above.

However, we are currently working on a region leasing system. The selling system works great now, and we are making our final touches to the leasing system. This will allow you to lease out buildings in a town.

I recommend that, for this situation, you either:
    1. Protect the entire town and add people as needed, making sure they are aware that they only have permission to build in their house or property. This will deter griefers the most. If someone does end up griefing, make sure you provide very detailed information when you report them.
    2. Protect the bulk of the town and community buildings, and risk having some small things like surrounding land and pathways unprotected. We can always roll back those things if they get griefed. However, as you'll find, usually only buildings get griefed, not basic paths.
